Riprendendo la grafica di Full Moon Fever e a pochi giorni dalla ricorrenza della morte ( il 2 ottobre 2017), Lucinda Williams ricorda la figura di Tom Petty con questo tribute album inciso per la Highway 20 Records e intitolato Runnin’ Down a Dream: A Tribute to Tom Petty. “We’ve actually wanted to do a cover series for a long time now, but never had the time with my touring schedule”, spiega Lucinda Williams. “I guess the silver lining in all of this has been to be able to really get inside the songs of some of my favorite artists – see what makes them tick. My hope for this project is that we’ll be able to help as many venues as we can. They’re our homes, as artists. We have to take care of them, for the sake of live music to come.” La voce stupenda di Lucinda e la lucida genialità della musica di Tom Petty dovrebbero dar vita ad un mix incredibile e fare di Runnin’ Down a Dream: A Tribute to Tom Petty, un album davvero imperdibile. Se ho ben capito però, sembra che l’album si possa acquistare ( almeno per il momento) solo partecipando al Livestream di Lucinda Williams LU’S JUKEBOX nella puntata del 29 ottobre dedicata a Tom Petty con pre-order tramite form ( live e cd 30 dollari o se invece preferite live e LP 40 dollari) sulla pagina web dell’artista prima del collegamento streaming “In Studio Concert Series” attraverso la pagina internet di Space x Mandolin.
