GRAMMY-winning US singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat is due to perform in the UK next month, following the release of her acclaimed 7th studio album, and debut country project, Along The Way, featuring her duet with Sheryl Crow, ‘I’ll Be Here’.
With 15 billion global streams to date, including 55 million for the new album alone, Caillat – who has also collaborated with Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz, Brett Young and Brad Paisley among others – shot to fame in 2007 with her 3x Platinum, Billboard Top 5 debut album Coco, which included multi-platinum hit singles ‘Bubbly’ and ‘Realize’. Over the course of her exceptional career, the singer-songwriter has been the recipient of two GRAMMY Awards and five GRAMMY nominations, and in 2009 was the first winner of Billboard’s Rising Star Award (subsequent winners have included Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Halsey).
Recently featured in press outlets including NPR Weekend Edition, GRAMMY.com, CMT, and American Songwriter – describing Caillat as “possibly the most vulnerable she’s ever been on Along the Way” – her loyal and expanding fanbase continue to support the award-winning songwriter in her latest project.
Along The Way was the result of the California-raised, and now Nashville-based artist, turning to music to find her way through heartbreak. Having seen the end of her recent engagement, as well as coming into her own subsequent romantic entanglements, Caillat refused to surrender her belief that life’s good:
“My previous partner taught me the importance of the famous quote ‘This too shall pass.’ He told me, ‘When you’re happy, enjoy it completely – because it may not last. When you’re sad, know it won’t last either and that should give you some relief.’ And he’s right.”
“What I have gathered through my experience with love is that there is no shame in it,” she shares. “To love with your entire being knowing it could end is still worth the possible hurt because it helps us gain so much for our personal growth. Whether it’s wisdom, gratitude, or empathy, love can guide us to a more peaceful place within ourselves. And you’re helping someone else grow at the same time.”
Along The Way embodies that positivity; in her musical journey and experimentation with new sounds, Caillat vividly captured a moment in her life through song.
Hall-of-Fame, GRAMMY-winning songwriter Liz Rose (Taylor Swift, Alison Krauss, Carrie Underwood) and 7X chart-topping songwriter AJ Pruis (Scotty McCreery, Maddie & Tae, Alana Springsteen) were frequent collaborators on the album. The trio dug deep to tell Caillat’s story through her current musical lens – nearly a decade of living, writing, and performing in Nashville.
Colbie has been on the road since the release, sharing the new music with sold-out audiences across the US, Canada and Brazil. In March, she will make her long-awaited return to the UK, Germany and the Netherlands for arena performances at C2C Festival and the CMA Songwriters Series:
