Fans starving for traditional country music the way it once was, weep no more, as Brent Beaudeux delivers the goods with his ten track album “Brent’s Country”. Not will this album gladden a stalwart oldschool country aficionado from a sonic perspective but the lyrical content is intimate, personal and tells stories which are slices of life that many can relate to. It is no surprise our Louisiana native decided on this title as quite a few of the songs featured on this album have autobiographical origins. Case in point “Ladies Like You”, a beautiful heartfelt and heartbreaking ballad dedicated to Brent’s late wife. From such moving numbers as these Brent goes back to some of themes which have very much distinguished country songs such as the tongue in cheek song about a complicated love triangle with “She Was Always There When I Needed You” or the dilemma of choosing the head over the heart in “Should I Stay Or Should I Leave” which reeks of old smoky bars, hardwood floors and those oh so country neon signs. There is so much to love with this album but for the sake of brevity we will sum it up as : “As country as you could ever get and more.” Many say traditional country is in trouble of becoming obsolete but with artists like Brent Beaudeux we can assure you it is alive and well.
