Rising talent Marla is celebrating the release of her latest single, “Save Me From This Song.” Co-written with Grant Vogel (David Nail, Tenille Arts) and William Stone and produced by Brad Hill (Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne), the story-driven track showcases the emerging star’s songwriting skills and captivating vocal abilities.
Marla shares: “I was in the car with my sister one day while I was home visiting my family for Christmas. She apparently really did not like the song that was on the radio and dramatically yelled ‘save me from this song’ while quickly turning the volume down. I immediately put the title in my phone and started writing the chorus alone when I got back to Nashville. I brought the little I had written to a session with Grant Vogel and Will Stone and the song basically wrote itself.”
Marla started singing and performing at the age of four and developed a love for piano and guitar along the way. At age 17, Marla moved to Nashville from Connecticut to attend Belmont University. Since then, she has released several solo projects and has garnered fans all around the world. In 2017, Marla released her single, “Try Telling My Heart That,” which she co-produced with Brad Hill (Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne) & Joe Fox (Jon Pardi, Matt Stell). The song was featured on the ‘Wild Country’ playlist on Spotify and on the ‘Hot Tracks’ playlist on Apple Music and has been streamed over 600,000 times. The music video for “Try Telling My Heart That” debuted on CMT in CMT’s Artist Discovery program. Shortly thereafter, she released her self-titled EP, which garnered Nashville’s attention.
In addition to recording her own music, Marla co-wrote “If You Never Broke My Heart” by Madeline Merlo, which has garnered over 15 million streams worldwide, and has had several other songs recorded by artists. Marla is set to release more new music in 2023.
